Purpose of Role: Responsible for welding metal parts according to work orders and blueprints, ensuring quality and safety while preparing surfaces and selecting appropriate equipment as specified.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Focus Area: Utilize various welding processes to join metal parts, while also conducting associated tasks like cutting and grinding. Conduct repairs on heavy mining equipment, including but not limited to buckets, using welding techniques and fabrication skills to restore functionality and structural integrity.

  • Focus Area: Interpret and accurately read blueprints, sketches, and charts to understand project requirements. Execute welding processes with precision and expertise to refurbish large-scale mining equipment, ensuring structural integrity and adherence to specifications.

  • Focus Area: Utilize welding techniques to perform repairs, modifications, and new fabrication on components for heavy equipment, pipelines.

  • Focus Area: Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to established safety procedures and protocols, including the proper handling and storage of materials and equipment. Works under general supervision on duties and tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity

  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in welding and fabrication, particularly in repairing heavy mining equipment

  • Preferred one year experience in Heavy equipment welding

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

  • Certification in welding or related field is preferred

  • Proficiency in interpreting blueprints, sketches, and charts
