**POSITION:** Welder/Fabricator
**DAY SHIFT:** Monday - Thursday, 6:30 am - 5:00 pm (OT Friday as needed)
**PAY RATE:** $21.65 - 24.00 per hour (DOE) Full Benefits Package
**LOCATION:** Huron, SD
### **SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES**
Responsible for the safe and efficient fabrication of steel products. The Welder I is an entry-level welding position, with all work being completed with close supervision.
### **ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**

* Able to Learn company policies and procedures.
* Able to work on basic manufacturing assignments that have set standards.
* Able to follow detailed instructions while observed closely by supervisor or lead.
* Able to problem solve simple and non-complex issues that need little judgement.
* Able to perform measurements within specified tolerances.
* Learn to read blueprints.
* Ability to work with others.
* Ability to work safely and accurately.
* Prompt and dependable attendance.
* Other duties as assigned.
### **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALITIES**
* Able to perform simple flat and horizontal welds and flat groove welds.
* Able to Fit and weld subassemblies with tack or spot weld.
* Able to perform measurements within specified tolerances.
* Exhibit knowledge of material identification, equipment utilization and welding equipment set-up and maintenance.
* General knowledge of equipment and operations.
* Basic understanding of Weld symbols.
* Understand and follow oral and written directions.
* Ability to read a tape measure (imperial and metric).
* Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
* Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
* Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace.
* Ability to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal.
* The trait of being dependable and trustworthy.
### **EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE**
* High School diploma or GED preferred.
* 0-1 years of welding experience preferred.
