WELDER

THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This position is located in the Joint Forces Headquarters-State, Logistics Directorate (J-4), Surface Maintenance Facility. The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of welding in support of maintenance activities. DEFINITION OF AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1 = On-board technicians currently assigned to the Louisiana National Guard.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess the experience or training that has provided the candidate with the basic knowledge of welding processes. Must have knowledge of technical orders, blueprints, and specifications? SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess at least Twenty-Four (24) months of experience or training demonstrating the application of a variety of electric resistance welding processes and equipment; experience in using accepted trade methods and a variety of manual welding processes to weld all types of commonly used metals in various shapes, sizes, and thicknesses; experience using a wider range of metal welding processes to make more difficult welds meeting close tolerance, strength, and other requirements; these welds may be in hard-to-reach places; experience which allows the welder to devise special jigs and fixtures to hold the parts to be welded; experience which demonstrates knowledge of several related trade procedures; experience which enables the lay out and planning of work from blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, and work order. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. 2. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. 3. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. 5.
