Purpose
- ------

The Team Lead oversees daily Cut‑Off Department operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and compliance with company policies and procedures. This role provides technical guidance to operators, coordinates workflow, and supports production goals across assigned lines.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- ------------------------------

* Oversees the operation of all Cut‑Off lines and provides day‑to‑day leadership to assigned employees.
* Ensures safety, workmanship, product quality, and productivity expectations are met.
* Controls and verifies steel color code identification for material routed to Cut‑Off lines.
* Assists operators with equipment setup, troubleshooting, and changeovers.
* Stocks and maintains assigned die cabinets and required production parts.
* Completes rod color control sheets for the oncoming shift and processes gang pay documentation.
* Reviews, understands, and follows all departmental procedures, work instructions, specifications, plant rules, and applicable Job Hazard Analyses.
* Maintains accurate records related to rod control, wire changes, alloy identity, and production activities.
* Updates master boards to reflect the size and color being run on each extruder.
* Coordinates alloy identity sampling and delivers samples and required documentation to Quantovac.
* Operates and supports the use of department equipment, including Cut‑Off lines, cranes, industrial vehicles, and related work centers, in accordance with training requirements.
* Maintains a clean and organized work area and ensures compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies.
* Immediately reports safety hazards, equipment concerns, or EHS questions to the Production Team Lead or Shift Foreman.
* Supports employee training and qualification efforts as directed by the Production Team Lead and Shift Foreman.
* Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company's RISE Strategy.

Basic Requirements

* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Previous experience in manufacturing operations required.
* Prior experience in the Cut‑Off Department or a lead/senior operator role preferred.
* Working knowledge of Cut‑Off Department equipment and manufacturing processes.
* Ability to read and interpret specifications, procedures, and work instructions.
* Experience using SAP and completing production and quality documentation.
* Ability to visually distinguish color codes.
* Licensed industrial vehicle operator or ability to obtain certification.
* Strong mechanical aptitude with a focus on safety and quality.
* Basic math, reading, and writing skills sufficient to complete records and reports.
* Demonstrated leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
