Structural Worker Welder/Shipfitter

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard, Industrial Department, Structural Shop in Baltimore, MD.

Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to perform the duties of the position rather than the length of experience. Eligibility will be determined by the relevance, scope, and quality of all experience and training, regardless of where or how acquired. Applicants will be rated and ranked based on their knowledge of the following job elements: 1. Ability to Do the Work of the Position without More Than Normal Supervision 2. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Includes Blueprint Reading) 3. Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment 4. Dexterity and Safety 5. Knowledge of Metals 6. Technical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic) 7.
