Metal Fabricator

Position Summary:
The Metal Fabricator will construct various jigs/fixtures related to the manufacturing process with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities:
* The Metal Fabricator works closely with manufacturing engineering team to research and develop creative and effective solutions for manufacturing and product launch projects
* The Metal Fabricator, along with manufacturing engineering team, develops methods to improve department operation and overall operation of the manufacturing process
* Weld \& fabricate metal reinforcements for various production molds
* Weld \& assemble a variety of jigs, fixtures used in manufacturing
* Order and maintain department supplies
**Required Education and Experience:**
* Knowledge of manufacturing process
* Trade school/college education - welding
* Proficient in MIG welding
* Ability to research and problem solve a variety of production issues
* Familiar with metal working tools including: horizontal band saw, drill press, MIG welder, iron worker acetylene torch, pipe bender, lathe, vertical mill, belt, grinder
* Familiar with hi-lo, hoists, and man lift
* Experience with hand tools including: drill, driver, tap and dies, files, grinder, sander, etc.
* Knowledge of basic shop math
**Experience With the Following is a Plus:**
* Hydraulic and pneumatic experience a plus
* Excellent team and communication skills
* Knowledge of basic woodworking machines: table saw, band saw, radial arm saw
* 1-3 years experience reading blueprints
* Boat assembly experience is a plus
* TIG, pulse, and flux core is a plus
