Job description
We are hiring experienced Structural Welders to support the T-ATS (Towing, Salvage, and Rescue Ship) program, a U.S. Navy new construction project at a leading shipyard.
Job Summary:
Weld structural metal components using FCAW in accordance with blueprints, work orders, and specifications. This role supports new construction of Navy vessels, requiring a high level of craftsmanship and consistency.
Requirements:
* Minimum 6 months FCAW 3G/4G structural welding experience
* Must pass a hands-on FCAW 3G/4G weld test:
* 3G position (downhill progression)
* 4G position (overhead)
* Previous shipyard or new construction experience preferred
* Must pass drug screen and fit test
* Strong work ethic and reliability
Work Environment:
* Shipyard setting (outdoors, heights, confined spaces as needed)
* Physically demanding role requiring lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods
Schedule:
* Monday--Friday, 6:00 AM -- 4:00 PM
* Overtime and weekends may be required based on workload
Pay:
* $24--$26/hour (based on experience)
Additional Details:
* Onsite weld test required for consideration
