Job description
You will serve as an ENGINEER in the 652 - Submarine and Undersea Vehicle Structures Branch of CARDEROCK DIV NS. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 or GS-12/13 level in the Federal service, independently performing and reviewing structural analysis of submarine structures, such as pressure hull shells and frames, bulkheads and tanks, using analytical calculations and finite element analysis (FEA); leading the design and execution of experimental tests for submarine structures, which includes developing instrumentation plans and analyzing test data; communicating technical information to Navy leadership related to the design, evaluation, and certification of submarine structure through technical documentation and oral presentations; and executing structural engineering evaluations through the systematic application of submarine design processes, material science principles, and the interpretation of welding and non-destructive testing results.
