### Your New Role

* Verify base metal type, grade, and dimensions prior to welding

* Check joint fit-up, alignment, and member positioning before fabrication continues

* Inspect bolt hole size, spacing, edge distances, and slot geometry based on approved shop drawings

* Measure camber, sweep, plumbness, and overall member geometry to confirm dimensional accuracy

* Verify weld joint preparation including bevel angles, root openings, and backing materials meet WPS requirements

* Confirm dimensional compliance of stiffeners, clip angles, and other structural components

* Ensure fabrication tolerances meet AWS codes, project specifications, and contract documents

* Document nonconformances and coordinate corrective actions with fabrication supervisors and the QC Manager

* Maintain accurate dimensional inspection records and reports

* Use calibrated measuring tools such as tapes, squares, and levels

* Coordinate with Certified Welding Inspectors, QC Managers, and Project Managers during fabrication
